*On the Fundamental Plan for Constructing the
Tokyo City Hall
Drafters of the Fundamental Plan expected the development
of Tokyo into a multi-center city, through the activation
of its districts harmonized with their respective characteristics.
They also contemplated the creation of the new face of
Tokyo as an international city, based on its history and
tradition. In view of these points, the Plan envisaged
the construction of new offices of the Tokyo Metropolitan
Government in the Shinjuku district, and present Tokyo
International Forum in the Marunouchi district. |
