Japan's only convention exhibition Tue. 5th - Wed. 6th DecemberExhibition Hall From 10:00Admission free
The International Meetings Expo (IME)
is the only exhibition in Japan devoted solely to conventions. Now in
its 10th year, it has been held at the Tokyo International Forum every
year since 1996. The program for this year's "IME2000" has three parts
- a trade show, a seminar, and business talks between convention promoters.
At the trade show, organizations that promote domestic and international
conferences (universities, scientific academies, and associations) and
the representatives of corporate conferences and incentives (sales promotion
events) are invited to take part in talks with international conference
and tourism cities, convention bureaus, conference centers, conference
related companies, and other exhibitors. At the seminar, meanwhile,
lectures with a highly specialist content are given by top representatives
of construction and IT concerns, theme parks, and others. There will
also be a demonstration corner introducing futuristic convention styles
using visual IT, expected to develop in new ways in future. This should
be seen as an extremely valuable opportunity to acquire the advanced
information of our age, by learning all about conventions today and
catching a glimpse of their shape tomorrow.Promoters: Japan Congress Convention Bureau (JCCB), Japan National Tourist Organization (JNTO) Inquiries: Japan Congress & Convention Bureau Tel: 03-3212-1371 |

A chance to discover Tokyo's original leather goods Tue. 7th - Wed. 8th November Exhibition Hall Exhibition 10:00-18:00 Fashion Show(1) 13:30-15:00 (2) 15:30-17:00 Admission: Free
Tokyo accounts for a large proportion
of Japan's production of leather goods, in monetary terms. For example,
37% of men's leather shoes and 43% of women's and children's shoes are
produced in Tokyo. Similarly, pigskin products made in Tokyo account
for 67% of the national production value. The Tokyo Leather Fashion
Fair 21 is a major event that brings together these "Tokyo original"
leather and pigskin products. The Hall will be full of interesting sections
such as the "Piggies Special" (consisting of display booths with a focus
on pigskin products and materials, and fashion shows and talk shows
featuring veteran designer and leather material expert Ariga, and model
and TV personality Hana) and the "Leather and Goods Collection", in
which Tokyo-produced leather goods will be on view. A chance to re-discover

has won world renown as a unique group that performs nothing but Mozart,
as well as for the high quality of its music. Its most unique characteristic
is that all the musicians perform in 18th century costumes. The end
effect is a strange sense of being thrust into the aristocratic society
of the 18th century. Then there's the spirit of Mozart, which seemingly
fills the stage... Whatever you do, don't miss this one chance to see
a long-awaited first Japanese concert. Inquiries: Koransha Tel: 03-3943-9999 |
