Information available in i-mode
Did you know you could also see information on the Tokyo International Forum in
i-mode? The service was used to provide Forum-related information on the Tokyo
Millenario at the end of last year, and was very well received. Currently, you
can find the latest calendar of events there, as well as information on shops
and restaurants in the Forum. By double-clicking the relevant period in the event
calendar, you can see the events to be held during that period. A further click
reveals the specific details of each event.
Information on navigation to the various Halls, transport access, car parks, and
others is also available. The Internet address is:

TIF busily celebrates the year-end
- Appearances by baseball stars Nagashima and Sasaki -

Busy scenes in the Forum Millenario Club |
The "Tokyo Millenario", a new addition to Tokyo's year-end scenery with its sculptures of light, attracted some 2.5 million visitors between December 24th and January 1st (even more than the previous year's event). And the "Forum Millenario Club", held concurrently in the Exhibition Hall and elsewhere through a tie-up with Nippon Broadcasting System, Inc., brought in more than 120,000 visitors who enjoyed relaxation, food and drink, live music, and other attractions. On the opening day, December 24th, in particular, a "Radio Charity Musicthon" was held to raise money for a fund to install sound-emitting traffic signals for the blind. On the stage for the 24-hour live broadcast, special applause was reserved for two stars from the world of baseball, former Giants coach Nagashima and Mariners pitcher Sasaki. On New Year's Eve, meanwhile, countdown concerts were given by Every Little Thing in Hall A and Do As Infinity in Hall C. The Tokyo International Forum saw in the New Year with loud cheers from the packed audiences

Close-up experience of the Hermitage Art Museum and the Pieta Statue of Florence
Two touch-panel information guides have now been set up in the Tokyo International Forum Concourse Lobby
Numerous famous works on view from close quarters.
The Hermitage Art Museum information guide introduces the Museum and the works
it houses, including about 200 paintings. Many famous works can be viewed on screens
that offer a tremendous sense of reality, thanks to the latest digital techniques.
See the bits that can't be seen!
The Pieta statue of Florence by Michelangelo is introduced digitally, using a
virtually perfect three-dimensional model. It shows what processes Michelangelo
used to create the statue and tackles the mystery of why he tried to destroy it.
Why not drop in and try these two fascinating information guides?

Birth of another new landmark:"Pacific Century Place Marunouchi"
The new "Pacific Century Place Marunouchi" - a super-skyscraper standing 150 meters above ground - is about 3 minutes from the Tokyo International Forum and about 1 minute from the Yaesu Exit of Tokyo Station. This conspicuous building,
with the innovative form of its glass walls, is a complex facility consisting of shops, restaurants, a hotel, business offices and other functions. With an
open space of 2,000 square meters, earthquake-proof performance of the highest level in the world, an energy-saving design allowing the interior lighting to
be adjusted to suit the strength of the sunlight, and other features, it creates an environment replete with relaxing qualities. Indeed, the phrase "urban
oasis" suits it well. A special attraction is the "light signs"
that can be shown on the wall surfaces. On the birth of the Crown Prince's baby daughter last December, messages of congratulation lit up the night sky, as reported
extensively in the media and elsewhere. The underground shops and restaurants are already open for business, though the hotel and other facilities are not due
to open until October 1st
