40th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Clinical Oncology
Towards more advanced methods of treatment

Oct. 16th (Wed.) - 18th (Fri.)Hall B, Hall C, Hall D, Reception Hall, Exhibition Hall, L-Gallery, G-Block Conference Rooms09:00-18:00 (may vary according to day and venue) Not open to the public

For three days from October 16th to 18th, the 40th Anniversary of the Japan Society of Clinical Oncology, a national organization of cancer specialists, will be celebrated using all the facilities of the Tokyo International Forum. Against today's backdrop of aging and declining birth rates, this is an era in which we must seriously consider the role to be played by the Japan Society of Clinical Oncology and act promptly in addressing it. "Medicine made to order" has been extolled in the sites of cancer treatment since the end of the last century, and individualized treatment aimed at maintaining the QOL (quality of life) of the patient has been sought. To clear this issue in more advanced dimensions in future, it goes without saying that "human" evolution (such as a raising of minimum standards for registered doctors) is required, as well as hardware evolution in the progress of imaging machinery and the development of endoscopic diagnosis technology. For this Meeting, a full and varied program has been prepared in collaboration with related organizations in Japan and abroad, including symposia and workshops on leading-edge cancer treatments. Lively exchanges of information and views are also planned, to make this a highly fruitful meeting that will provide a major step into the future.
