A truly riveting two hours and ten minutes
Kumakawa Tetsuya K Ballet Company "Giselle"

A spectacular scene from the performance |
From February 13th to 16th, the Tetsuya Kumakawa K Ballet Company performed "Giselle", directed and re-choreographed by Tetsuya Kumakawa, in Hall C. Tickets were sold out. The production brought a rapturous reception from the audiences, more than 90% of whom were women. Kumakawa himself, in the role of Albrecht, captivated them with the extravagance of his dancing and the richness of his expression. The entrancing beauty of Viviana Durante, in the role of Giselle, also drew sighs of admiration. Immediately after this dreamlike experience of two hours and ten minutes, we spoke to some members of the audience whose ardor had yet to cool down.

"We often see ballet, but Kumakawa's Albrecht is just the best. His range of emotional expression is fantastic. We had good seats today, so we also had a good view of his facial expressions. Wonderful!" (2 women working in the Tokyo area)

"I'm a Kumakawa fan, and have seen most of his performances. Even overseas ones. When I see him dancing, I feel uplifted. I'll come again tomorrow." "We had a fantastic view, as we were in the Fan Club seats." "I've been here to see musicals before. The Halls are beautiful but also give good views." (5 female members of the Kumakawa Fan Club)

"Of course, Kumakawa is excellent, but this time we particularly came to see Viviana Durante. She's really beautiful! I like the Halls here because they use a lot of wood, which makes quite a soft atmosphere overall. Though we were in the Upper Circle, we had a good view." (2 women working in the Tokyo area)

"This was the first time we'd been to see ballet, but it was wonderful. It was also the first time we'd been to the Forum. We found it quite beautiful." (Couple from Setagaya)

"Viviane in the role of Giselle seemed quite tough despite her slender physique. Her sideways gliding movement on the tips of her toes was really beautiful. Kumakawa has the same combination of power and subtlety, and a powerful leap that looked quite majestic. Act 1 felt cute, while Act 2 had an atmosphere of fantasy. We were charmed by both styles." (Mother and daughter living in Tokyo)

"This is the second time we have seen the K Company. We were given tickets the first time, but were so impressed that we had to come again. We like this facility partly because the access is so good." (2 sisters from Narita)

|
"Of course Kumakawa was good, but the group dancing was also wonderful. I thought it unusual to see such beautiful choreography. We forgot about the time and became thoroughly engrossed. We just wanted to see more." (Mother and daughter living in Yokohama) |
