The 51st Scientific Session of The Japanese College of Cardiology aims to provide information to a wide audience, the recent developments in clinical cardiology. The meeting is aimed at doctors working in clinical cardiology, researchers and technical experts, pharmacists, nurses, etc. With the theme of the session being "For The New Cardiology Millennium", a discussion will be made of the possibilities of restorative treatments and gene therapy.

Experts in their field hold seminars, invitational seminars, symposium and panel discussions. Members will make presentations, academic exhibitions and corporate exhibitions.

An open seminar is due to be held on Sunday 7th September which discusses the theme of preventing sudden death.

"The Bossa Nova". The first Japan tour of Joao Gilberto, the man who created Bossa Nova and changed popular music. The "King of Bossa" finally comes to Japan after numerous unfulfilled rumors. The rhythm created by his guitar and his perfectly controlled voice have influenced the greats such as Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Leonard Bernstein, Henry Mancini and Ryuichi Sakamoto. A legend with a history of over half a century, this is for those who appreciate real music.

Asia Premiere of "Woyzeck" presented in English by Betty Nansen Theatre of Copenhagen. Director Robert Wilson and American rock singer/songwriter Tom Waits and his wife and collaborator Kathleen Brennan have created an innovative musical production. Originally written by German playwright Georg Buchner, Woyzeck is a unfinished and based on a true story of an impoverished soldier who goes mad and murders his beloved one. Following the great success of the world premiere held in Denmark in 2000, this adapatation has since been performed in Paris, London, Rome, New York and other cities in Europe and the USA 226 times in total. Wilson's surrealistic and breathtaking beautiful stage and Waits/Brennan's most deeply affectionated songs are highly acclaimed by critics and audience alike.

Performance duration: 120 minutes, no intermission With subtitles.

With this background, "Nikkin", the Japan Financial News Co., Ltd., will be holding "FIT 2003". The exhibition will be the largest financial IT exhibition in Japan, aimed at financial agencies and related companies. On a larger scale and more specialised than previous exhibitions, "FIT 2003" has been created with the financial agencies' viewpoint very much in focus.
Presentation seminars will be held at exhibiting booths to show how hardware, software and related products can help to set up financial systems.

The "2003 Tokyo International Audio Show" brings together under one roof the best of domestic and international audio technology, and introduces the latest in audio systems and audio culture. Booths will be held by 25 companies representing 154 brand names. CD players, amps, speakers, etc will be on display and can be tested. Seminars will also be held. On Friday 10th October from 2:00pm, audio-fan and TV personality, Mr. Tomoaki Ogura and audio critic Mr. Okihiko Sugano will be holding a discussion forum on the attraction of real audio systems in Hall D7 (numbered tickets will be distributed 30 minutes before the start of the discussion forum on a first-come-first-served basis). A "not-to-be-missed" for audio fans: a place where all your audio dreams come true!
