Social Media Policy

Tokyo International Forum Co., Ltd. (the “Company” or “we”) engages in the dissemination of information on Twitter for the purpose of raising customer awareness about the Company’s business activities through social media, to thereby increase customer satisfaction and the value of the “Tokyo International Forum” brand.
The Company has established this Social Media Policy (this “Policy”) to provide rules applicable to the operation of the Company’s official social media account (the “Account”). The Company’s employees will participate in the operation of the Account in good faith and in line with this Policy, the Company’s other policies and internal rules, and applicable laws and regulations.

I. Operation of the Account

Content Information and other resources about Tokyo International Forum will be provided and updated from time to time.
Updating Dates Updates will be made basically during 10:00 – 17:00 except on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, year-end/new year holidays and other holidays observed by the Company, but may also be made at other times or dates.

Operation Period The operation of the Account may be discontinued, or the Account may be removed, without prior notice.

II. Policy Regarding Replies, Postings, Followings, etc.

  • 1. Our response to users’ replies, postings and inquiries

    The Company has no obligation to provide answers to any tweet, reply, DM (direct message), etc. (collectively, “Posting”) posted to the Account or to respond to any inquiry made by posting to the Account. Please post all inquiries and comments to the Company through the “Comments and Inquiries” page on the Company’s website:(https://www.t-i-forum.co.jp/contact/).

    2. Following of users

    The Company may not follow all of the users who follow the Account.

    3. Hiding or deleting Postings

    Customers shall refrain from engaging in any conduct or making any Posting listed below (including those displaying the URL of a link to a web page that contains such content). The Company may hide or delete such Postings or block the accounts of the authors of such Postings at the Company’s own discretion. The Company shall not be responsible or liable for any loss or damage caused to customers arising out of or in connection with submitting such Postings.
    3.1 Content that violates or may violate the public order and morals;
    3.2 Content that violates or may violate the Company’s policies (including this Policy);
    3.3 Content that leads or may lead to illegal or criminal activity;
    3.4 Content that promotes or encourages discrimination based on race, ideology, creed, etc.;
    3.5 Content that slanders a specific individual, entity or group (including the Company) or harms their honor or reputation;
    3.6 Content that infringes any intellectual property right (such as copyrights and trademark rights) or image right or right to privacy;
    3.7 Content that contains a harmful program, script or the like;
    3.8 Using the Company’s social media, including this Account, for advertising, promotion, solicitation, sales or other commercial purposes;
    3.9 Impersonating another person;
    3.10 Content that is in violation of Twitter’s Terms of Use or other policies; or
    3.11 Conduct or Content that is otherwise inappropriate for the operation and management of the Account, as determined by the Company.

III. Intellectual Property Rights

  • All intellectual property rights in the information (texts, images, etc.) provided through the Account, including copyright, design right, patent right, utility model right, trademark right, know-how and ideas, shall remain the property of the Company or the owner of such right. The content of information may not be altered, copied, used (including secondary use), converted or otherwise utilized beyond the scope permitted by applicable law without permission.

  • Copyrights and other rights on the Postings submitted by users are owned by the respective users; however, by submitting a Posting, the user agrees to grant the Company a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free right to use the Posting exclusively and not to exercise its copyright, moral rights or other author rights against the Company.

IV. Disclaimer

  • The information provided by the Company through the Account does not necessarily represent the Company’s official views and the Company makes no warranty as to the completeness, accuracy or usefulness of such information. The Company’s official announcements will be made known through the Company’s website (https://www.t-i-forum.co.jp/en/) or news releases. The Company shall not be responsible or liable for any damage incurred by customers arising directly or indirectly from the use of such information.

  • Any information provided through the Account is current as of the time of posting but may be changed afterwards.

  • The Company shall not be responsible or liable for any problems between users and third parties arising out of or in connection with the information provided through the Account and shall not be responsible or liable for any damages arising therefrom or in connection therewith.

  • The Company shall not be responsible or liable for any users’ Postings or other communications to the Account.

  • By following the Account, users are deemed to have agreed to this Policy and granted the Company the right to access their user accounts and profile information, such as their name, profile pictures and gender, that are made available to view.

  • The Company is not in a position to answer questions about the Twitter system’s state of operation or technical issues, or features of software or applications or how they should be used.

  • The Company shall not be responsible or liable for any damage whatsoever that may arise in connection with the Account.

  • The Account may be removed, or its operation may be terminated, without prior notice.

V. Stance Regarding Participation in Social Media

The employees of the Company will participate in social media in good faith and a prudent manner, with the understanding that social media platforms are means of communications based on links between individuals and are accessible to everyone in the world, and that, in such environment, once information is transmitted it cannot be completely eliminated.

  • We, including our employees, are committed to complying with applicable national and regional laws and regulations, the Tokyo International Forum Compliance Charter (https://www.t-i-forum.co.jp/en/company/compliance/), which is our code of conduct, and the Company’s internal rules and policies.

  • We listen to customers’ voices and provide useful information for participating customers.

  • We take care not to provide incorrect or misleading information to customers, being attentive to the content of information we provide and the way it should be transmitted.

  • If we become aware that we have given incorrect information or misleading expressions, we will apologize and correct the information or the expressions in due course.

  • We pursue the dissemination of information and interactive communications in a sensible manner without misrepresenting our identity.

  • We comply with the rules of and respect the cultures and manners of each social media created or operated by third parties.

  • We respect the intellectual property rights, privacy rights and other rights of third parties and pay attention not to cause any damage to their reputation.

VI. Other Points to Note

  • This Policy shall be governed by the laws of Japan and any dispute arising in connection with the Account shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court in the first instance.

  • This Policy may be amended without prior notice, if determined by the Company as necessary.
